Q. What is Springetti?
A: Springetti is Galatas Elementary's annual spring fundraiser hosted at the school. This will be our 21st annual event and the theme is A Suesstastic Springetti. All of the funds raised go directly to supporting our school through technology updates, instructional materials, testing and tutoring, student field trips, and playground updates just to name a few.
Q: Where and when is Springetti?
A: Springetti will be on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 5:00-8:30 pm at Galatas Elementary School. There is a preview night on Thursday, April 6 from 5:00-7:00 pm.
Q: Who sponsors Springetti?
A: We are so grateful to our Galatas families and staff as well as our community for their support.
Q: What is there to do at Springetti?
A: LOTS! Besides a catered spaghetti dinner, you can enjoy adult and kid raffles, a silent auction, a live auction, many entertainment options, bingo and a general store to purchase fun items with your ticket tokens.
Q: How do I get admission?
A: Admission goes on sale on February 15th and is $14 per person. Children 3 and under are free. The cost includes an admission wristband, dinner, and most entertainment. Everyone is invited and must have an admission wristband to enter. Don't wait, Springetti does sell out!! Purchase admission here.
Q: Why should I purchase extra ticket tokens?
A: Purchase ticket tokens to use for bingo, the general store, some of the entertainment, and to increase your odds on the adult and kid raffle prizes in the main hallways. Be sure to get enough for the family and put your name and contact info on each ticket. We usually have around 200 raffle items between kid and adult raffles to win. Ticket tokens are $0.50 in advance online and $1.00 at the event.
Q: What is Express Pay and why use it?
A: As a convenience, you may pre-register your credit card used when purchasing your admission and ticket tokens to charge your purchases on the night of Springetti. Using express pay is completely safe and simply allows you to skip an extra step when claiming your live or silent auction prizes. Please note, should your card expire or you wish to change the card used, you may stop by the Technology Lab to update your information during A Seusstasic Springetti before events close.
Q: What do I wear to Springetti?
A: Springetti is a casual, family-friendly event. You may choose to wear something that goes with this year's theme, A Seusstastic Springetti if you want. Please, no masks or weapons. Don't forget to wear your admission wristband.
Q: What are the auction parties all about?
A: Auction parties are themed parties for kids and adults. Spaces for the parties are reserved for a price at the auction.
Q: I have a great idea for a party or I’d like to host a party. Who do I contact?
A: Please contact Bridget Blank at email@example.com.
Prizes to Win
Q: What kinds of items do people donate?
A: Sports memorabilia, gift cards to restaurants and retail stores, sports and concert tickets, vacation homes, electronics, jewelry, and lots of kids items, too!
Q: I have an item to donate. Who do I contact?
A: Please contact Patti Kimmel or Kirsten York at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: What items will be in live auction?
A: We have vacations, sports and concert tickets, golf outings, and more! A detailed program will come home with your admission wristbands and ticket tokens the week of Springetti!
Q: What items will be in silent auction?
A: Many of the classroom baskets, school related items, and wonderful donations from our community.
Q: What do I do when I get to Springetti?
A: After entering, drop your ticket tokens in the raffle bags in both main hallways leading to the cafeteria. Dinner is in the cafeteria. Play bingo in the art room, shop in the general store in the music room, and place your silent auction bids in the activity room. Check out the free entertainment under the pavilion and ticketed entertainment in the bus loop. The live auction is in the cafeteria.
Q: How do I claim prizes I’ve won?
A: After 8 pm, you can claim your raffle prizes at the library doors, kids raffles on one side, adult raffles on the other. There are two ways to claim a live or silent auction prize. If you pre-authorized your credit card (Express Pay) when purchasing tickets, you can go straight to the activity room. Your paid receipt will be there with your item. If you did not pre-authorize your credit card, go to the tech lab to pay, and then go to the activity room with your receipt.
*We highly encourage you to pre-register your credit card which can help speed up the process when picking items up at the close of Springetti.
Q: What if I can’t go to Springetti? Are there other ways to be a part of it?
A: Yes! We host Preview Night on Thursday, April 6 from 5-7 pm. It is free to come check out the adult and kid raffles and drop your ticket tokens in at that time. Winners will be drawn the night of Springetti, but you do not need to be present to win. Ticket tokens can be purchased online at the discount price, as they are $1.00 on Preview Night.
Q: Are monetary donations accepted? Is Galatas PTO a non-profit?
A: Yes! Galatas Elementary PTO is a 501(c)(3), a non-profit designation. Donations of all kinds are accepted with 100% of Springetti donated funds going directly back to the school. As a 501(c)(3), your donation is tax deductible and eligible for your company's corporate matching program, if applicable. You may use your receipt from purchases on this site as well as your receipt from A Seusstastic Springetti for Live or Silent Auction wins to use as your donation receipt. Our tax ID will be on both.
Q: What else is there to Springetti?
A: It takes a lot of volunteers to organize such a large event. We begin months in advance, but help is needed in the weeks and days leading up to it, as well as the night of Springetti. Volunteers are always needed! If you’d like more information on how to help, contact Patti Kimmel or Kirsten York at email@example.com.
